IMA hosted its second annual Children’s business fair for the sixth and third grade students, the two grades currently enrolled in our LAB program. All booths were designed, marketed, budgeted and executed by our students. Parents were enthusiastic: sporting shirts and hats with homemade signage supporting their daughters’ businesses. Popular booths included homemade food items like tostadas, rolled tacos, cupcakes, grilled corn on a stick and ice cream. Other students made earrings, bracelets and crocheted hair accessories. The girls decorated their booths with balloons, paper flowers and homemade signs. Each entrepreneur presented their pitch to potential customers as they frequented the various booths. The girls were full of pride completing this project and walking away with the money they had earned.
